The first of two Ice Age Trail 50 training runs will be held on Saturday, April 20, starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Nordic trailhead (the start/finish of the IAT50).
We will be flagging a 35-mile course, consisting of a Nordic blue loop and an out-and-back to Rice Lake. Everyone is welcome to the training run, whether or not they are registered for this year’s race.
There will be one minimalist aid station at Hwy 12 (miles 18 & 26) with water, HEED and a few snacks. If you have specific nutrition needs, please bring your own fuel.
Our Sustainability Director will also be selling reusable cups for $2 (our cost) at the Nordic shelter before the run.
You don’t have to run the entire 35 mile course! There are a variety of shorter distance options. See the RD before the run if you have questions.
The second training run will be on Saturday, April 27. Same starting time and location.
Training Run #2 will be an out-and-back to Emma Carlin (about 19 miles). An aid station will be set up at Horserider’s Camp (miles 6.5 and 12.5).
